Experimenting With AI: Natural Human Semantics in Language Processing
Update 6/18:
I have been observing and here are some revelations: Artificial Intelligence will never be able to achieve the emotional semantics that a real human has- at least not for now. The words are so scripted, lifeless, data-analytical, which is great for some types of research, but for the meat and potatoes of life- human words bring so much more to the table...
And not to mention- plagiarism- on the AI's behalf! This topic was evaluated in a recent news story, when a professor noticed that there were no citations or reference logs in regards to information that the AI was pulling up and displaying. Well, in that case, send me a royalty check if your AI Chatbot happens to pull from my writings...!
"Will AI Replace Human Intelligence?" - 10th Grader
So, I had to do some experimentation for myself. The intricate details of how software is established provides pertinent details about the succession of where AI will eventually go. For me, as a native English speaker, I could immediately tell the discrepancies in personalization, especially when I started asking relevant and deep questions.
Societal views on artificial intelligence may differ in many ways. Opinions across the board have been in discussion for decades now, with many ideas of what the future could hold. A popular allusion to the movie Terminator always ends the conversation with a bang! With all the buzz, an inkling to explore this platform was essential to experience firsthand.
The first question I typed in for the open-AI platform Chat GPT was:
"Describe the benefits of education."
"Describe the benefits of education."
Here was ChatGPT 3.5's response, which took less than 10 seconds to complete:
"Knowledge and Skills: Education equips individuals with knowledge and skills necessary to navigate life successfully, from basic literacy and numeracy to advanced specialized expertise.
Empowerment: Education empowers individuals to make informed decisions about their lives, careers, and health, enabling them to pursue their goals and aspirations.
Career Opportunities: A well-rounded education opens up a wide range of career opportunities and enhances employability, allowing individuals to secure better jobs and higher incomes.
Critical Thinking and Problem-Solving: Education fosters critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills, enabling individuals to analyze situations, evaluate options, and make sound decisions.
Social and Emotional Development: Education promotes social and emotional development by fostering empathy, communication skills, teamwork, and resilience, which are essential for healthy relationships and well-being.
Personal Growth: Education encourages personal growth and self-improvement, helping individuals fulfill their potential, develop a sense of identity, and cultivate a lifelong love for learning.
Global Citizenship: Education promotes global awareness, cultural understanding, and tolerance, preparing individuals to participate actively in an increasingly interconnected world as responsible global citizens.
Economic Growth: Education is a catalyst for economic growth and development, driving innovation, productivity, and competitiveness in a knowledge-based economy.
Health and Well-being: Education is linked to better health outcomes, as educated individuals tend to make healthier lifestyle choices, access healthcare services, and contribute to healthier communities.
Social Mobility: Education can break the cycle of poverty and inequality by providing opportunities for upward social mobility, enabling individuals to improve their socio-economic status and that of future generations."

Indeed a relevant and detailed answer. However, when I typed in the same questions in different formats, it explained slightly different answers. AI is forever changing with the flow, learning more everyday from human counterparts. Sure, AI can mimic data perfectly. But can it get to the very ebb and flow of natural human expression in language?
While the uses for AI-assisted creations run far and wide for nearly every subject, it is important to know that the information relayed is in fact copyrighted to the platform...which makes it nearly impossible to plagiarize. In fact, universities have long used software to combat copycats. Turnitin happens to be one of the most popular methods used by institutions to ensure student integrity. In April 2023, "Turnitin ChatGPT screening was introduced to detect AI-generated content, including content generated by ChatGPT"(Cramly, 2023).

So AI likes education but will they run education in our future instead of human compassion and loving learning extended to humans who are the only race that can understand feelings?
